I'm blogging from my brand new computer. I finally (1) am no longer running anything on the old Compaq, (2) have retired the VAIO to a life of leisure sitting in my room, and (3) bought a Mac. I'm blogging this from my new MacBook Pro, which I picked up at the brand new Apple Store that opened up in Boston today
For the past few years I've taken to climbing a mountain each year. In 2006, it was Mt. Washington (6288 ft); in 2007, it was Mt. Greylock (3491 ft). Each is the highest peak in its state.
This year, I'm thinking of trying to arrange two mountains. I'd like to try to hit Mt. Marcy, the highest peak in New York State (5433 ft), and Mt. Katahdin, the highest peak in Maine (5267 ft). Though Marcy is higher, Katahdin has a harder technical climb, so I think I'll do Marcy first.
Pictures from my recent trip to Greece are up in the Photo Albums. You can get to them here.
Hey, all. Haven't been on in a while, so I thought I'd update on my recent goings on. The last time I updated was November, when I was sworn in as an attorney. Ben (one of my roommates) and I had been going rock climbing once a week for about a month at that point. Since then, we've pulled in a whole group - about five of us go every weekend to MetroRock, in Everett.
I've been keeping busy with work since then, as well. The number of projects I have has been steadily building, and though it's some challenging stuff, I've been working on some really interesting cases. In the six months I've been at the firm, I've worked with inventors, examiners, attorneys, and business leaders on four continents. Today, I went back to BU Law to give a talk to the students on careers in Intellectual Property.
I can finally have conversations without appending "I have to warn you that I'm not a licensed attorney and can't give legal advice." That's right, I just got sworn in and got my license! I'M AN ATTORNEY!
I'd just like to point out that this season of Beauty and the Geek is winding down, with just two teams left before the finale next week. I'd also like to point out that both of the geeks left live within ten minutes of me. Yup, my neighborhood has 100% geek representation on the show.
In other news, I decided to stick around Boston for Thanksgiving this year, not knowing whether I should leave for a holiday in my first month at the firm. Turns out that was unnecessary, as no one will be in the office Thursday or Friday, but it does give me a chance to spend time with my cousins, who live in Ipswitch. I'll be going up there for the holiday.
Hope you all have a great Turkey Day!
Don't tell Will Truman he can't litigate! You know what happens? Will Truman gets up, and he litigate
